What does the name Ladder mean to you?

It’s constantly pushing to get to that next level. Always striving for more. Sometimes we need a little support to help us get to that next step, and that’s what this is. It’s a support system that gives us what we need to keep climbing because there is no ceiling to what we can accomplish.

What do you value most in your everyday life?

Time. Time is the most important asset we have, so it’s important that I manage my time efficiently. And I make time for the things I’m passionate about - from my family to working out and being at the top of my game. Those are all things I take pride in, so I make them a priority.

What is your pre-workout routine?

Before I work out, it’s important to get in a good meal. I’m very particular and disciplined about what I put into my body. I also like to get in the right mindset with music. Music helps me get focused and energized for the workout, which changes every day. I like to mix it up so the workout itself never feels routine.

About LeBron James

LeBron James is widely considered one of the greatest athletes of his generation and regarded by some as the best basketball player of all time. Revered by fans around the globe, James’ accomplishments on the court include four NBA Most Valuable Players Awards, three NBA Championships and three NBA Finals MVP Awards, two Olympic gold medals, and an NBA scoring title. He is the all-time NBA playoffs scoring leader and has amassed fourteen NBA All-Star game appearances, twelve All-NBA First Team selections, and five All-Defensive First Team honors.

James played high school basketball for St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in his hometown of Akron, Ohio, before joining the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003 as the first overall draft pick. As a member of the Miami Heat, James won his first NBA championship in 2012 and followed that with another title a year later. In 2014, James re-signed with the Cavaliers, and, in 2016, led the franchise to its first NBA championship. In 2018, he signed with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Throughout his career, James has made charitable efforts a priority, namely through the LeBron James Family Foundation. Founded by James in 2004, the program supports more than 1,300 at-risk students with the resources, mentors, and interventions they need to be successful. All of the Foundation’s principles are rolled in to the I PROMISE School, an Akron Public School that provides complete wraparound supports for its students and their families.

James’ diverse business portfolio of innovative endorsements and investments has established him as one of the most influential figures in all of sports. In 2014, Forbes ranked James as the top athlete on their list of the world’s most powerful celebrities for his influence beyond the sports landscape.  James has also appeared on TIME’s annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world, Bloomberg BusinessWeek’s 100 Most Influential People in Sports, and the Sports Business Journal’s 50 Most Influential People in Sports Business.

Also adding to his off-the-court portfolio is James’ increasing influence in the entertainment industry, namely through his own SpringHill Entertainment. Named after the public housing complex where James grew up in Akron, SpringHill Entertainment develops content across a variety of platforms including digital, documentary and feature films, and scripted and unscripted TV. One of SpringHill’s fastest growing ventures is UNINTERRUPTED, the digital media company created by James and his business partner, Maverick Carter, that provides athletes a platform to develop and amplify their stories.
